Tabitha Soren finds art in the grime on our smartphones

That's right: visual art based on the smudges we make with our fingers on our mobile devices.
Tabitha Soren's Surface Tension taps into the grime on our smartphones (Todd Hido)

Tabitha Soren is a visual artist whose latest project is sourced, literally, from something many of us hold in our hands every day.

Surface Tension, Soren's latest project, is visual art based on the smudges we make with our fingers on smartphones and tablets, which she sees as almost abstract art.

Soren, who was once an MTV VJ, talks to Tom Power about finding art in these everyday objects.
