Snotty Nose Rez Kids dropped by the q studio for a performance and chat with host Tom Power about their new album Trapline.
The hip-hop duo, who are also known as the rappers Yung Trybez and Young D, were nominated for the Polaris Prize last year for their self-titled debut album, which is infused with some powerful personal history.
Yung Trybez and Young D talked about why they use their music to explore what it was like growing up on the Kitamaat First Nations reserve in B.C., and why they feel called to empower Indigenous kids all over the country to feel proud of who they are and where they're from.
