How Adrianna DiLonardo and Sarah Rotella continue to push LGBTQ stories into the mainstream
Even though Almost Adults is not out until tonight at midnight, its stars Adrianna DiLonardo and Sarah Rotella have some high hopes for their movie.
"I hope it's a classic for young, gay people to watch," DiLonardo says.
Almost Adults tells the story of two best friends transitioning into adulthood, one of whom comes out as gay. As the two characters complete their final year of college, they find themselves struggling to keep their friendship together as they begin growing apart.
And while the trailer has the label "LGBTQ movie" on it, DiLonardo assures that it's a film about best friends and female friendships first.
"A lot of people have a falling out with a friend, but it's not often told in film," she continues. "Sometimes it's harder to break up with a friend than a partner."
