Filmmaker Sandi Tan shares her bittersweet story about losing a film she created at 19 years old, only to have it suddenly re-enter her life. Her new documentary, Shirkers, is about what it was like to lose a project that meant so much to her.
Sandi Tan made a ripple when, at only 19 years old, she wrote, starred in and shot a full-length feature film with her friends in Singapore. The film, called Shirkers, received a lot of buzz in Singapore's film community — but it never saw the light of day.
Shockingly, after the shooting wrapped, the film's director, George, vanished with the footage.
