Meet Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, the artist turning your heart into thoughtful art
Rafael Lozano-Hemmer is a Mexican-Canadian artist whose art is always changing -- because it depends on you. He makes these big, interactive installations that require you to physically do something.
Walk around. Empty your pockets. Speak into a microphone. The art needs you to participate. It needs to record you. Or else it doesn't exist.
Lozano-Hemmer's used people's voices, movements and even Facebook friends in his art. And now, he is asking his viewers to share one of the most intimate parts of themselves: He wants you to share your heartbeat.
Raphael Lozano-Hemmer joins Tom Power to talk about his new Pulse exhibit, which is currently showing at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, D.C. You'll find it there until April 28th.
