Shy Kids (stylized as "shy kids") are a Canadian band of filmmakers and musicians from Toronto that hit it big at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2015 when their film Noah won best short film. From there, the band took their talents south of the border and headed to L.A. to work on bigger projects — but the dream wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

Band members Matthew Hornick and Walter Woodman dropped by the q studio to talk about their roller-coaster American journey and how it brought them back to Canada with an idea for a new album. Their second album in a state is out everywhere Feb. 23, 2018.
