Undeniable climate change podcasts

How can people still deny climate change, even while they stand in front of a melting glacier in Alaska? Here are the best podcasts on global warming.
ILULISSAT, GREENLAND - JULY 23: A seagull stands on an iceberg that broke off from the Jakobshavn Glacier on July 23, 2013 in Ilulissat, Greenland. As the sea levels around the globe rise, researchers affilitated with the National Science Foundation and other organizations are studying the phenomena of the melting glaciers and its long-term ramifications. The warmer temperatures that have had an effect on the glaciers in Greenland also have altered the ways in which the local populace farm, fish, hunt and even travel across land. In recent years, sea level rise in places such as Miami Beach has led to increased street flooding and prompted leaders such as New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to propose a $19.5 billion plan to boost the citys capacity to withstand future extreme weather events by, among other things, devising mechanisms to withstand flooding. Today my pick of the week is Terrestrial.

Holy smokes. This piece from Terrestrial really shook me to my core after I heard it. "Green fatigue" being such a real issue right now made this episode really hit home for me. The issue of climate change seems so huge and overwhelming that it's becoming easier to just block it out. What made the stories I heard in Terrestrial so powerful, was how unique and personal they were. I learned so much about eco-anxiety and the people it impacts the most: low income communities and people of colour. Plus, the effects of plastic pollution and how it ends inside the bodies of birds (this story will haunt you - but in a good way! Promise!).

With so much apocalyptic news about climate change, a lot of what we're hearing can paralyze us. This piece made me want to jump into action to do my part and educate myself about global warming. That's why Terrestrial is my pick of the week.
