First, we'll be transported under the sea by The Sound Aquatic from Hakkai Magazine, to learn about the surprising ways ocean life has been affected by the pandemic.
Then, the CBC podcast A Death In Cryptoland takes us into the mysterious death of the young Canadian bitcoin mogul Gerald Cotten, CEO of QuadrigaCX, whose untimely demise caused customers to lose millions.
And later, become a fly on the wall of a real-life therapy session with CBC's Other People's Problems, as host and therapist Dr. Hillary McBride helps a client with her difficulty accepting affection from others.
The Sound Aquatic - For scientists researching the animal kingdom, the global lockdowns caused by the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 created a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to study how animals react when humans get out of the way. In this clip, we learn about how ocean life reacted to the sudden disappearance of nearly all shipping traffic in New Zealand.
Death in Cryptoland - This clip tells the story of the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of Gerald Cotten, the founder of QuadrigaCX. Upon checking into a luxury resort in India, Gerald Cotten complains to staff he's feeling ill. He and his wife are taken to a hospital and within 24 hours the young CEO is declared dead. A month passes before word gets out to customers that QuadrigaCX's CEO is gone — along with their money.
Forever is a Long Time - "Forever is a Long Time is a five-part series—formed by narration, original music, and Ian's conversations with his wife and divorced family members—and a look at love with people who have made mistakes."
Evil By Design - In this clip, Shannon Moroney talks about the tough dynamics of being a child or spouse of someone revealed to be an abuser. Moroney's former husband raped and kidnapped two women just a month after their wedding. Now, Moroney is a therapist helping the victims of another abuser: fashion mogul Peter Nygard.
Other People's Problems - In this real-life therapy session, Hillary McBride helps her client Hannah work through some of her issues around shame, and her difficulty accepting affection from others.
