Dan Harris says you're actually not as bad at meditation as you think
This week, we hear about the power of meditation from Dan Harris.
As a former ABC News anchor, Dan covered natural disasters and reported from multiple combat zones. After he had a panic attack live on air, he realized he needed to make some drastic changes in his life.
Dan took up meditation and found his quality of life steadily improving. Now, he swears by it. Dan is the author of the book Ten Percent Happier: How I tamed the voice in my head, reduced stress without losing my edge, and found self-help that actually worked.
Today, Ten Percent Happier is also a popular meditation app and podcast. From guests like Queer Eye's Karamo Brown to the Dalai Lama, the podcast explores enlightenment from all angles. This year also marks the release of a 10th Anniversary edition of the Ten Percent Happier book.
Dan Harris joins us to talk about his work and share some of his favourite podcasts about technology, business, and pop culture.
Pivot: "Every Tuesday and Friday, tech journalist Kara Swisher and NYU Professor Scott Galloway offer sharp, unfiltered insights into the biggest stories in tech, business, and politics. They make bold predictions, pick winners and losers, and bicker and banter like no one else. After all, with great power comes great scrutiny."
The Watch: "Every week, The Ringer's Andy Greenwald and Chris Ryan -- longtime friends and pop culture addicts -- break down the latest in TV, movies, and music."
The Powers That Be: "Join Emmy Award-winning journalist Peter Hamby, along with the team of expert journalists at Puck, as they let you in on the real conversations insiders are having across the four corners of power in America: Wall Street, Washington, Silicon Valley and Hollywood."
