CBC Podcasts is an award-winning studio that competes and thrives on a global stage. We work with creative, talented producers and production companies to make premium quality series.
We accept pitches year round and are interested in captivating stories that can be standalone, live on one of our umbrella feeds below… or launch a new multi-season feed!
- Uncover - The best in true crime.
- Understood - Know more, now. Four episode seasons on topical stories.
- Split Screen - Inside the unsettling and captivating world of entertainment and pop culture.
- Personally - Our new memoir umbrella. Extraordinary lives, told by the people who live them such as Run, Hide, Repeat; Welcome to Paradise; Alone: A Love Story and more.
- Hunting - Launched by Hunting Warhead, international stories from spy thrillers to online crime. The chase, hunt and journey to track down the culprit and understand the phenomenon.
What we're looking for:
- Ambitious and exciting projects that bring new audiences and garner critical acclaim
- Stories that can appeal internationally and also be relevant to Canadians
- Skilled producers who bring creativity, experience and proven ability to make high calibre content
- Stories that are original and that you ideally have unique access
- Range of collaborations: in-house producers, the independent sector and established media companies
- Our slate reflects our diverse and contemporary society
Here are some things to avoid:
- Pitches that don't have legs for multiple episodes and better suited to one-off documentaries or segments on existing radio programming
- Pitches that rely on copyrighted music (due to rights issues)
- Ideas that are topics versus compelling stories
