From a medical and legal standpoint, Jamie McCleary lost two pregnancies (both before 20 weeks), but from Jamie's point of view, she has lost two children. "To know that they meant so much and now they're reduced to nothing, it's hard. It's hard to reckon."

She tells Piya the shroud of secrecy around pregnancy loss was hard to handle. "Initially, I was furious because they were my babies. And I was so mad that I was the only one acknowledging them in the whole world," she says, "My friends would say 'Oh you don't have other babies' and it just infuriated me."

Jamie has leaned on her Christian faith and music to get through. And she has gone on to work for the PAIL Network that supports families experiencing this kind of loss.
