Trevor and Ify answer five revealing questions
Here's your chance to get to know Now or Never hosts Ify Chiwetelu and Trevor Dineen. They put their heads together to answer five questions that will reveal a lot (perhaps too much?) about who they are.
What's your favourite song right now?
TREVOR: I'm listening to this song by Eric Kuffs called Holding it Down a lot on my drive home from work these days. It won't pump you up at all, but it'll calm your soul nicely.
What is your guilty pleasure?
TREVOR: Chocolate cake. It started when I was a kid with McCain cake...that was my gateway cake. Things can get pretty savage now when I'm around a moist, rich, dark Ghirardelli chocolate cake covered in creamy chocolate ganache frosting. Or a bundt cake.
IFY: Nutella milkshakes. I am lactose intolerant.
How would your best friend describe you to a stranger?
IFY: I've convinced my four-year-old nephew that we are best friends. He has said the following when talking about me: "You're a lady, not a kid"; "Remember when you ran after the car when it was driving away?"; "Aunties are for playing toys with, mommies are for cuddling"; and "Don't eat that, it's not a quesadilla."
TREVOR: They'd probably say I'm personable. And then talk about how very cheap I am. I would then politely ask them to use the term "frugal" or "thrifty" ... and they would deny my request. And that is how my ex-best friend would describe me to a stranger.
What are you most proud of?
IFY: Comedy, specifically stand-up comedy, has always been a love of mine and I always had the goal of one day doing it. Every time I perform I am amazed and proud to be doing the thing that terrified me the most. I'm also super proud of the amount of furniture I have assembled (by myself) since moving to Winnipeg.
What's a "Now or Never" decision that you've made?
TREVOR: To do standup comedy. I had the chance to try it and I completely chickened out. I was beyond terrified so I went the 'Never' route. And that's a good lesson for everyone ... if it's tough, or difficult ... it's best to never try.
IFY: Moving to a city I had never even visited to try a completely new career in radio broadcasting was a pretty big "Now or Never" moment for me.
