Earlier this week Dr. Michelle Au, a Georgia state senator, spoke out about the rise of violence against Asian people. One day later, devastating shootings in Atlanta left eight people dead, including six Asian women.

Today, we cover the latest on the attack and talk about the growing grief and anger over the rise of anti-Asian hate crimes in the U.S. and here in Canada.

Stephanie Sy is a correspondent for PBS NewsHour and anchor of PBS NewsHour West. She joins us today to share her thoughts.
