Definitely Not the Opera

PHOTOS | A day in the life of MMIW advocate Lorelei Williams

From government boardrooms to the Downtown Eastside to the Pickton Farm, follow along as DNTO spends a day with MMIW advocate and family member Lorelei Williams.

Lorelei Williams is a force to be reckoned with.

On top of searching for her missing aunt and seeking answers for the murder of her cousin, she's an Aboriginal policing liaison working to bridge gaps between police and Indigenous women in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. She's also a post-secondary student and single mom to two kids... so it's safe to say she's a busy woman.

Journalist Angela Sterritt followed Williams during a particularly hectic week – as she met with government officials, advocates and family members to plan the national inquiry.
