Coming up on Day 6: September spotlight on documentaries
In past seasons, Day 6 has featured the best of documentary film-makers working today, including Alex Gibney, Erroll Morris, Michael Moore, D.A. Pennebaker, and Werner Herzog. We continue that tradition this season, with features on some of the powerful documentaries premiering at TIFF this month.
Next week, we'll speak with journalist Michelle Shephard, who covered the Omar Khadr story for years. In her film, "Guantanamo's Child", Khadr shares his side in the most in-depth interview he has ever done. Her interview will air on Sat. Sept. 12.

The following week, we'll speak with author and activist Naomi Klein and documentary filmmaker Avi Lewis about their film "This Changes Everything". The film is inspired by Klein's book, which challenges its audience to view the changes our global climate crisis requires as a chance to rebuild and improve our world. The interview with Klein and Lewis will air on Sat. Sept. 19.

And finally, we'll speak with documentary filmmaker Alan Zweig and former "Journey For Lives" marathon runner Steven Fonyo about the new documentary, "Hurt". The film shows a year in the life of Fonyo, who completed his run across Canada in 1985 after losing his left leg to cancer. In the years that followed, Fonyo spun out of control into a frenzy of drug addiction and criminal charges. We speak with Fonyo and Zweig about the documentary on Sat. Sept. 26.
