Day 6 encore: Carine McCandless and The Wild Truth
Carine McCandless shares untold stories behind the life and death of her brother Christopher McCandless, who hitchhiked around the US for nearly two years, eventually ending up in the Alaskan wilderness.
Chris McCandless was in his early twenties when he burned his money, cut himself off from his wealthy family and hitchhiked around the United States. He ended up in the Alaskan wilderness in 1992, where his skeletal body and journal were found a few months later. Chris' story reached millions when it was written in the best selling novel "Into The Wild" by Jon Krakauer, and the film adaptation was written and directed by Sean Penn.
In her recent memoir "The Wild Truth", Carine McCandless shares untold stories and memories of her brother Chris. She spoke with Brent Bambury last fall.
