We could soon get an answer as the Trump administration continues to close U.S. borders.

This includes suspending its H-1B visa program, which has been called America's secret economic weapon.

Some Canadians working through the height of the COVID-19 pandemic were getting an hourly pay-boost to compensate for the new and unknown risks associated with their jobs.

But now, many have had that pay bump taken away, even though the pandemic is not yet over.

Producer Richard Raycraft takes a deeper look at what so-called 'pandemic pay' is costing companies and what it could cost Canadians.
