Anger over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis and, more widely, the treatment of African Americans at the hands of police sparked clashes between protesters and law enforcement in dozens of cities across the United States.
Protests began earlier this week and continued to grow in size following Floyd's death on Monday, after a white police officer pressed his knee on his neck until he stopped breathing.
Cars and businesses were torched, the words "I can't breathe" were spray-painted on buildings, and a fire in a trash bin burned near the gates of the White House, among other incidents.
The unrest could be felt in Canada too, as protests in Toronto, Vancouver and other locations took place in support of the Black Lives Matter movement, and to protest anti-black and anti-Indigenous racism at home and around the world.
Our question this week: What are your thoughts on the George Floyd protests in the U.S.?
