Elizabeth Turnbull's husband Chris took his own life last September.

In the midst of her own grief, Elizabeth is now playing a character on the opera stage who is also dealing with grief and loss.

To handle the sadness of her character along with her own emotions, Elizabeth is finding new ways to portray the role.

On World Suicide Prevention Day, which is observed on September 10, Elizabeth is helping organize Mysterious Barricades, a concert happening for 18 hours across the country—from sunrise in St John's, Newfoundland, to sunset in Victoria, British Columbia.

Mysterious Barricades brings together the finest musicians and mental health organizations across Canada to raise awareness about those struggling with mental illness, and help send a message about the availability of help.
