Singer-songwriter spends 12 years turning Terry Fox story into a musical
John Connolly’s musical, Marathon of Hope, has its world premiere in October.
John Connolly started working on his musical about the story of Terry Fox in 2004, when he was a university student. Twelve years later, Marathon of Hope: The Musical will receive its world premiere with Drayton Entertainment at the St. Jacobs Country Playhouse in October.
John wrote many of the songs for the show in cabins lit by wood stoves around his home province of PEI.
It took him many years to get Terry Fox's family to agree to the musical, and now they're his biggest supporters.
John talks about what it's been like to fulfil this dream and how Terry's story has changed his life.
