Montreal and Toronto-based singer-songwriter Daniela Andrade found success through YouTube—a path that didn't exist ten years ago.

The singer performed acoustic covers in front of a web camera and shared them with her YouTube followers.

Now, Daniela has over a million followers on the video-sharing site. She has just released an original four-part EP and is about to embark on an international tour.

A little while ago, after coming across an article about burying our loved ones on the moon, Daniela was inspired to write a song that explores how we connect with one another. This is how 'Digital Age'—the first chapter in her four-part EP—came to be.

Daniela talks to Candy about how the rise of social media has changed the way we listen and appreciate music today.

She will be performing at YouTube Fan Fest this Saturday, August 13, at the Molson Ampitheatre in Toronto.
