About Campus
Campus is that place and time in our lives where everything changes.
Consider it a platform at the CBC for students to be heard, but it's not just about school.
The stories you hear on Campus are universal, filled with situations we all grapple with, and moments we can all relate to. We talk about love, money, family, sexuality, and acceptance.
The show isn't afraid to dive deep into the big issues that confront us -— drugs, race, gender, mental health, and everything in-between.
Albert Leung is your guide, but you won't be hearing from him much. Here on Campus, the students are the storytellers.
About the team
Sean Brocklehurst, Senior Producer
As the editorial and creative lead, Sean is the brain trust of Campus.
His wealth of knowledge and expertise entitle him as a mastermind in our field. To the Campus crew his demand for detail is the stopgap between good stories and great stories.
For the past two decades, Sean's quest to share the human experience has put him in the thick of some of the biggest events of our generation — producing award-winning stories, documentaries and CBC News shows covering everything from the 9/11 attacks, Barack Obama's campaign to become president, and the tsunami and nuclear disaster that rocked Japan.
Sean has also co-produced two sons and is an accomplished DJ and music producer.
Albert Leung, Producer
Albert is the voice of Campus but he's not your typical on-air personality. Compare him to a friend of a friend you've just met at a bar, who's got an epic story to tell.
Albert has worked multiple Summer and Winter Olympics, personally witnessed history at the inauguration of U.S. President Barack Obama, and reported from the nation's capital in the aftermath of the Ottawa shooting. A momma's boy, and a son of a cab driver, he's a big city kid, standing 6'3" tall. Albert is an avid golfer, snowboard instructor, and a diehard Leafs fan. He's also a master of accents, a wannabe chef, and best friends with a dog named Rookie. Albert is a proud Chinese-Canadian, travelling to Asia regularly to share Canadiana with his family. He was born to tell stories.
Eric Van, Producer
Eric is the backbone of Campus. He's the show's chase producer and is driven by a passion to learn about people's lives — the upbringing that made them who they are, the adversity they've faced, and the successes that have come along the way.
Before joining the Campus crew, Eric was a freelancer at Metro Morning. He was also a producer with CBC Radio's The Candy Palmater Show. He's always had a love for radio, especially longform audio features and documentaries. Eric prides himself on being born and raised in Jane and Finch, one of the most diverse neighbourhoods in Toronto.
