The Walt Disney Company held an unprecedented global event this week dubbed #ForceFriday to hype the new Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens.

If there's one thing that's hard to do, it's get nerds excited about a new Star Wars movie (Gavin cried when he watched the trailer).

#ForceFriday included a YouTube event that lasted over 18 hours, where YouTube celebrities revealed new Star Wars toys and took them out of the packages.

Unboxing videos are incredibly popular — and profitable for the people who make them.

One YouTube user, Disney Collector, has an estimated annual earning of $4,860,000.

CBC is joining the craze and launching its own unboxing channel. Here's a preview of a video hosted by columnist and political commentator Chantal Hébert, unboxing our very own Canadian political action figures.
