Yes b'y! Newfoundland is heading to Broadway

A new Canadian musical is heading to Broadway in 2017: Come From Away. It's about the 38 planeloads of people stranded in Gander, Newfoundland after being redirected immediately following the September 11 attacks. The detoured passengers were welcomed with such amazing hospitality, they're still humming fiddle tunes to this day. 

"Come from away" is a Newfoundland expression for a visitor to the province. It's a tough label to shake, even if you've lived there for decades but weren't actually born there. They also say "fresh off the boat" – but only in reference to cod.
