24-year-old Canadian Rachel Mahon has been made an organist at St. Paul's Cathedral in London. In September, she'll become the first woman to be named as scholar for the cathedral's massive 17th century pipe organ. Ms. Mahon says she is thrilled, but the prospect of being the first woman is 'a little bit daunting'....
24-year-old Canadian Rachel Mahon has been made an organist at St. Paul's Cathedral in London. In September, she'll become the first woman to be named as scholar for the cathedral's massive 17th century pipe organ. Ms. Mahon says she is thrilled, but the prospect of being the first woman is 'a little bit daunting'.
She became an organ scholar at St. James cathedral in Toronto when she was 17, and was smitten with church music from a young age.
