Toronto airport staff go all out to find Calgary couple's lost wedding ring
It's hard enough to track down your suitcase at the airport, so imagine the stress of losing your wedding ring at Canada's largest and busiest airport: Toronto's Pearson International. That's what happened to Calgary's Julie McManus, the wife of Mike McManus. But even though Mr. McManus wasn't with his wife while she was travelling, he took on the search from their home in Calgary.
"I got a very panicked phone call [from my wife], saying 'I don't know what to do, I'm in the airport, I can't find my ring, what do I do here?'" Mr. McManus recalls during his conversation with Carol. "I said well, you know, get on the plane. We'll work out the rest later. If it can be found I will find it."
So began his quixotic search for his wife's wedding ring -- and despite the long odds against its discovery, he didn't give up hope.
Hear Carol's full interview with Mr. McManus to find out how he was able to recover the ring, thanks to a lot of help from staff at the airport.
