UK students Chris Dobson and Debs Torr have launched a social media campaign after researching that peeing while showering once a day, saves a significant amount of water.

Two students at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England say there are environmental and economic savings to be had by taking your first pee of the day in the shower. They're trying to spread the word on social media, too. Their "#GoWithTheFlow" campaign invites people to share the fact that they urinate during their morning shower.

"Usually, most people need to have a wee when they first get up, so just hold off until you first get into the shower," Chris Dobson tells As It Happens host Carol Off.

Dobson says he consulted with his campus' medical and environmental personnel and found that there are no health or environmental risks to the act.

Plus, he adds, the urine goes directly down the drain, "so there's no mess."

Of course, this isn't the first time the concept of peeing in the shower has been the subject of conversation.
