Ontario Liberal Mike Colle angered by Trudeau's plans to have Eve Adams run in his riding

Eve Adams, the former Conservative MP and newly-minted Liberal, today confirmed she'll attempt a run in the Toronto riding of Eglinton-Lawrence in the next federal election. But Mike Colle doesn't like that at all. In fact, he calls her arrival "preposterous". And, he's the man who has represented that same riding provincially for the past twenty years.

Eve Adams, the former Conservative MP and newly-minted Liberal, today confirmed she'll attempt a run in the Toronto riding of Eglinton-Lawrence in the next federal election. But Mike Colle doesn't like that at all. In fact, he calls her arrival "preposterous". And, he's the man who has represented that same riding provincially for the past twenty years.

Liberal MPP Mike Colle tells As It Happens host Carol Off that the warm welcome given to Eve Adams by federal Liberal leader Justin Trudeau: "seems like some kind of scheme concocted in some basement room at the Chateau Laurier".  The news comes two days after she accompanied Trudeau at a news conference, where they announced that she was renouncing her position as a Conservative Parliamentary Secretary to join the Liberals.

He adds that he and other Liberals in the Eglinton-Lawrence riding will not give such a warm welcome to Adams. He says, "Believe me, my fellow sign crew guys ain't gonna go out and put up signs for this person".
