Pilot recreates flight path in The Shepherd using computer simulator

Every year, As It Happens airs a reading by late host Al Maitland of Frederick Forsyth's short story The Shepherd.
The story takes place in 1957. An RAF pilot is heading home from Germany for Christmas. Fog sets in, and all radio communication is lost.
We had a computer simulated version of the flight path from Germany to the United Kingdom created for our annual broadcast.
