Episode transcript

Part One

Patrick Brown New Leader
Less than 48 hours after Patrick Brown's abrupt resignation, the Ontario PC Party appoints an interim leader — and then announces that within 2 months, it will let its 200-thousand members decide.

Utah High School Paper
The editor of a Utah high school paper cries censorship, after authorities delete their big scoop about a teacher who left, and the evidence of his inappropriate behaviour.

Stilton Cheese Roll
It was a roll model. But now, after more than 50 years, the annual cheese roll in the British village of Stilton is cancelled this year — and the organizers say that's because, like a nice room-temperature Brie, it's "no longer seen as cool".

Part Two

Trump Mueller
After reports that Donald Trump tried to dismiss Special Counsel Robert Mueller, our guest says an obstruction of justice charge is more likely than ever.

Humanity Star
A company that sent a big, reflective sphere into space says it's meant to bring people together, and it has — especially astronomers, who say a giant disco ball in the sky is just shiny garbage.

Part Three

Hunger Strike Priest
There are a lot of undocumented immigrants in Father Gary Graf's congregation. And the Chicago priest is fighting for them by going on hunger strike, until Congress comes up with an acceptable deal on DACA.

Warren Miller Obit
Remembering Warren Miller, the pioneering director who lugged the heaviest equipment on the slopes to capture skiers carving through powder.

Decoded Book
An Edmonton computer scientist has uncovered a clue to deciphering the Voynich manuscript, known as one of the world's most mysterious books.
