Full Episode Transcript

Part One

Egypt Attack
One of the deadliest attacks in modern Egyptian history. It began with an explosion in the midst of Friday prayers — and so far, 235 people are dead after militants attack a Sufi mosque in the north Sinai Peninsula.

Swastika Discovery
After a construction crew in Hamburg, Germany, unearths a giant concrete swastika under a sports field, officials immediately set about reducing it to rubble.

Apricot Kernels
A California man is rushed to hospital after eating "apricot kernels" from a Montreal health food store — and now he's spreading the word that they were nearly the seeds of his destruction.

Part Two

Rohingya Minister
Fresh from visiting a Rohingya refugee camp, Canada's International Development Minister remains optimistic about a deal that would send those who fled back to Myanmar.

Comfort Women Statue
After San Francisco installs statues in tribute to Second World War "comfort women," the mayor of Osaka, Japan officially ends their sister-city relationship, saying San Fran has "destroyed trust".

Part Three

Encore: Sarajevo Special
This week, former general Ratko Mladic was convicted for his crimes during the Bosnian War — but an encore presentation of an As It Happens special shows Sarajevo is still haunted by its past.

Raymond Chandler Book
When we say Raymond Chandler, you think "hard-boiled detective fiction". You don't think "savage social critique". But the late author condemned the U.S. health-care system in a newly discovered short story — that's still relevant decades later.
