Part One

Crane collapse
The couple whose secret wedding became very public today — when it was disrupted by the disastrous collapse of a crane in New York City.

DNA investigation
To find out who killed an eleven-year-old girl, the RCMP says all the men in a Northern Manitoba First Nation should submit DNA samples — and the region's Grand Chief agrees.

Ice boar curling
Four wild boars are rescued from a frozen lake in Sweden — by humans who used their best curling techniques to slide them to safety.

Part Two

Flint resident
Her four kids have all tested positive for lead poisoning — and even though she feels the authorities are listening, Flint, Michigan resident Tammy Loren still wants to get out of the city for good.

Explorers Club dinner
It took a while to figure out that an exclusive club hadn't actually served woolly mammoth at a dinner sixty-plus years ago — but you can't truncate the process of determining whether people ate trunk.

Part Three

Retraction audit
Two researchers say scientists should be prepared to have their papers audited — to address the increasing problem of retractions.

Creed vegans
The Ontario Human Rights Commission has expanded its definition of the word "creed" — and now, "ethical vegans" say their creed is a protected human right.
