The sumptuous sounds of the harp filled History when Charlotte Day Wilson began her homecoming Toronto show. Seated at a piano, Day Wilson sang a haunting rendition of “Mountains” as she swayed to the music. The audience became her choir, echoing the lyrics back to her during stirring songs, including “My Way” and “Money” from her new album, Cyan Blue. Day Wilson switched between the keys, guitar and saxophone, changing the mood for each song while the crowd watched in awe. During “Take Care of You,” R&B singer Yaya Bey joined Day Wilson onstage, putting a dreamy spin on the romantic track. “As someone who doesn’t necessarily put on a big, fantastic, dancing around [the] stage show, my objective is to just see the emotions on people’s faces and just feed off of that,” Day Wilson told CBC Music.
