Born in traditional Algonquin territory (Kitigan Zibi), Albert Dumont is Ottawa’s English poet laureate. Albert is an activist, spiritual advisor, volunteer, and a poet who has published six books of poetry and short stories and two children’s books. He has dedicated his life to promoting Indigenous spirituality and healing and to protecting the rights of Indigenous peoples.
