Netflix makes deal for children's shows from DHX in Halifax

Children's television program producer DHX Media Ltd. has signed a content agreement with Netflix in the United States, the company said Tuesday from Halifax.

Children's television program producer DHX Media Ltd. has signed a content agreement with Netflix in the United States, the company said Tuesday from Halifax.   

The deal will see programs such as Franny's Feet, Bo on the Go and Mighty Jungle added to the Netflix internet subscription service. Financial details were not disclosed.

 "Digital audiences are growing significantly and we anticipate increasing demand for kids' content which is ideally suited to on-demand delivery," said Josh Scherba, senior vice president of distribution.   

"We look forward to building our partnership with Netflix as we augment our presence in this new distribution channel for entertainment content."   

DHX Media has offices in Toronto, Vancouver, Los Angeles and London as well as Halifax and has produced over 40 original television series with broadcasters such as YTV, Teletoon, Family Channel, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Disney and PBS.

Kids' CBC works with DHX works on nine different children's shows, including Mighty Jungle and Bo on the Go.
