Vincent Massey student part of elite academic program
Abhi Gupta has already invented several software applications. He's also spent time working alongside university students at a Facebook global hackathon.
Now, the Grade 11 student from Vincent Massey Secondary School, is heading to yet another elite program where he'll work with some of Canada's brightest young minds.
He's attending SHAD, an academic enrichment program that accepts just 50 students every summer to study on campus at Dalhousie University in Halifax.
"Shad is a platform for young, brilliant students from all over Canada to come to one campus...and just join their talents," Gupta told CBC's Windsor Morning, describing his excitement about the program.
Excited about program
He hopes working with other like-minded students will help him decide whether he wants to explore a career in engineering or medicine.
"By going to SHAD, I'll get a better sense of what post-secondary opportunities there are for me and which field might be better suited to my interests," he said.
Other students are excited about heading to SHAD as well. Here's a peak at what some students expressed online.

Graduates from SHAD still boast about the long-lasting impact of the program.
