Nearly 150 flights scheduled to arrive and depart from Toronto's Pearson International Airport were cancelled Friday as the GTA faced a second day of heavy rain.

Ahead of the rainfall, airport officials warned passengers to check their flight information before heading to Pearson.

On Friday morning, the airport said that rain and runway work were "affecting operations." By 8 p.m. 148 flights had been cancelled.

Compounding the issue is the ongoing renovation of one of the airport's busiest runways, underway since March and responsible significant travel headaches for some passengers.
