Woman's death a homicide, Regina police say

Police in Regina say a woman who was found dead in an industrial-commercial area Wednesday night was the victim of a homicide.

Police in Regina say a woman who was found dead in an industrial-commercial area Wednesday night was the victim of a homicide.

The body of 21-year-old Kelly Goforth was discovered in the east back alley of the 1700 block of McAra St. east of the downtown around 7 p.m. CST.

Earlier, police received a call that there was a sick or injured person in the alley, which is in an industrial-commercial area.

When officers went to investigate, they found the body.

The coroner has been called. Officers from the Regina police forensics and major crimes sections are investigating.

Police say it's the city's seventh homicide of 2013.
