SaskPower construction to close, restrict some Regina roads

The city of Regina says some streets will be closed or restriction as the construction season winds up.

Starting May 24, 13th Avenue from Toronto Street to Osler Street will have construction work done

The first phase of construction begins Wednesday.

Regina residents can expect road closures and restrictions as construction season winds up in the city this summer. 

The work is being done on behalf of SaskPower. Notices will be sent out by SaskPower through the mail notifying residents if they will be affected.

Beginning Wednesday, construction expecting to last three months will begin on 13th Avenue, spanning from Toronto Street to Osler Street. Work is expected to be completed by August 20. 

Construction will also begin on Wallace Street, between 14th Avenue and 15th Avenue, and is expected to finish up July 16. 

Construction on Hamilton Street will start next month, June 5, between 14th and 15th Avenue. It will wrap up August 6.

July 17 will see work commence on 13th Avenue and an alley east of Smith Street which will finish up August 6.

Halifax Street ­between Saskatchewan Drive and 11th Avenue will begin August 7 and will be completed by August 27. 

Additionally, work will also occur for one or two days at the following intersections:

  • Osler Street and 13th Avenue
  • Osler Street at 15th Avenue
  • Osler Street and College Avenue

Drivers are reminded to slow down in construction zones and to consider alternate routes to avoid construction.
