Saskatchewan's population continues to hit record levels, as thousands more people call the province home.

Population jumps by more than 18K in past year

Saskatchewan's population continues to hit record levels, as thousands more people call the province home.

According to Statistics Canada, there were 1,155,393 people living in the province on Oct. 1.

It's an increase of nearly 5,000 people in the past three months and a jump of more than 18,000 in the past year.

The province's population has been on a steady climb for the past decade.

The provincial government notes the increase of 162,000 people in the past 10 years is the highest growth of any decade since 1922-32.
