Regina No. 1 when it comes to pampering pets
Saskatoon No. 2 in Amazon ranking of Canadian spending on pet toys, treats
Regina residents are No. 1 in the country when it comes to pampering their pets and Saskatoon isn't far behind, Amazon says.
The Queen City took the top spot in the third annual list of most pampered pet cities in Canada, the online retailer said Wednesday. The company looks at per capita spending in cities of more than 100,000 people.
In addition to ranking No. 1 overall, Regina ranked highest in the dog, grooming and toys categories, purchasing the most grooming kits, cat toys and dog treats.
Rankings were determined by purchases made from various categories within the Amazon.ca pet store, including grooming, toys, treats, small animals, cats and dogs.
Regina takes the top spot away from Windsor, which was No. 1 in 2014. Saskatoon takes the No. 2 spot this year.
Here's this year's top 10, according to Amazon.ca:
- Regina.
- Saskatoon.
- Burnaby, B.C.
- Windsor, Ont.
- Kitchener, Ont.
- Richmond, B.C.
- Gatineau, Quebec
- London, Ont.
- Markham, Ont.
- Edmonton.
