A long line of people were at the door of the Bushwakker Brewpub in Regina Saturday to have a taste of this year's batch of blackberry mead.

A handful even camped outside, overnight, not wanting to risk missing the seasonal beverage, which has very limited supplies.

Ashley Martin was the 2015 Mead Queen, having penned a winning limerick about her love for blackberry mead.

"I have been lining up for mead since 2009," Martin said Saturday. "Just in line we polished a bottle of last year's mead."

Because of a limited supply, customers may only purchase a maximum of 12 bottles of the special drink.

Richard Dupuis was one of three men from Winnipeg who dressed as Voyageurs, and spent a night in a tent, to be the first to sample the mead.

He said it was delicious.

"I like the fizz in there, it's really nice," Dupuis said. "Really nice fizzy kind of taste. And well worth the wait."

Dupuis said the fun of camping out and dressing up makes for a good story to tell.
