Porktoberfest organizers say interest in the festival soared this year, as chefs across the island served up almost 13,000 sandwiches.

That comes to about 4,500 pounds of pork, and about $144,000 in revenue.

The prize for the best Porktoberfest Chefs went to Kent Wilson and Philip Scales from The Old Triangle for the Pudgy Piggy Pastie.

32 restaurants competed for the top prize.

That's double the number that participated in last year's event.

The home chef challenge winner was Rhonda Rae Stone for her pulled pork sandwich.
