Ottawa police investigate shooting in Orléans

Ottawa police are investigating a Saturday evening shooting in Orléans that sent a man to hospital.

The Ottawa Police Guns and Gangs Unit said the shooting took place around 5 p.m. in the 1000 block of Ashmont St., near the intersection of Orléans Boulevard and Innes Road.

A single victim sustained a gunshot wound, police said.

Ottawa paramedics said a man with gunshot wounds was transported to hospital following the shooting.

Investigators believe the shooting was targeted and that there is no risk to the public.
