Yarmouth lands N.S. international air show

The 2009 Nova Scotia International Air Show is moving from Halifax to Yarmouth.

The 2009 Nova Scotia International Air Show is moving from Halifax to Yarmouth.

Organizers confirmed Thursday the event will be held at the Yarmouth airport in September.

They had run into a number of challenges in Halifax over the years, from losing the Shearwater airport to last year's hurricane that cut flying time to 30 minutes at the Halifax airport.

"We have been battered by some tough luck but are a very determined group," executive director Colin Stephenson said in a release.

Organizers say Yarmouth has a large facility and nearly uninterrupted air space.

This year's event celebrates 100 years of powered flight in Canada.
