Nova Scotia RCMP say a man who was the subject of a provincewide warrant was arrested without incident Saturday on the province's Eastern Shore.

Brandon Crawford Grant, 26, was wanted for being at large without excuse.

Police said they were called to a home in West Petpeswick, N.S., on Wednesday after reports of a man in distress. Officers learned the man had damaged the home with an axe and ran into the woods.

As a precaution, a hospital and school were closed, but later reopened.
