Police ask for help in Rickey Walker homicide case
Investigators seek anyone who saw Walker between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. on Aug. 31
Halifax police are asking for the public's help in their investigation of the homicide of Rickey Walker.
On Sept. 1, the 48-year-old man called police to report that he had been shot. Officers found Walker behind John MacNeil Elementary School on Leaman Drive in Dartmouth.
The victim was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner ruled his death a homicide.
Police say their investigation shows Walker was seen Aug. 31 at approximately 11 a.m. in the area of Portland Street near Prince Street in Dartmouth. The last reported sighting was at 11 p.m. as he was getting off a Halifax Transit bus in the 0-100 block of Highfield Park Drive.
Walker is described as a white man, 6'1'', larger build, short grey hair and a grey beard and hazel eyes. He was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and possibly carrying a black cloth grocery bag.
Investigators are interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen Walker between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. on Aug. 31, as well as anyone else with information about this incident.
