Daniel Pellerin's homicide leads to 1st-degree murder charge for teen
A 15-year-old boy faces a first-degree murder charge in the death of Daniel Michael Pellerin a week ago, according to Halifax police.
Officers say it was not a random act
A 15-year-old boy faces a first-degree murder charge in the death of Daniel Michael Pellerin a week ago, according to Halifax police.
Pellerin, 28, was stabbed on Windmill Road on Aug. 30. He was pronounced dead at the scene
Police arrested the teen on Thursday night on Primrose Street.
He faces a long list of charges. Besides the murder charge he’s accused of:
- Careless use of a firearm
- Unsafe storage of a firearm
- Two counts of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized
- Possession of a loaded, restricted firearm
- Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order
- Possession of a controlled substance
- Breach of previously imposed court orders
The teen has been remanded to the Nova Scotia Youth Facility and will appear in youth court on Monday.
Officers say it was not a random act.
Investigators are still looking for a second suspect.
