Daniel Michael Pellerin identified as Windmill Road homicide victim
Witnesses told police 3 men were involved in a fight
Halifax Regional Police are looking for information about Daniel Michael Pellerin, the 28-year-old Dartmouth man who died after a stabbing on Windmill Road Friday night.
Police are still looking for two men who they believe stabbed Pellerin multiple times in the parking lot of Farrell Hall around 10:30 p.m.
Witnesses told police three men were involved in a fight.
When police arrived they found Pellerin suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital but did not survive.
Police say two white men wearing dark clothing were seen running away heading north on Windmill Road.
A forensic team gathered a bicycle and a duffel bag that were found at the scene.
Officers say Pellerin was last seen in north end Dartmouth around 7 p.m. Friday, riding a mountain bike and wearing a black bicycle helmet. They want to speak with anyone who may have seen him leading up to the stabbing.
Rodney Tembo lives across the street and says when he saw the body and bike he thought it was a hit and run.
“It’s pretty scary because I have a three-year-old daughter. A parent really doesn’t want to hear something like that," he said.
Phyllis McKay hosted a yard sale near the crime scene on Saturday morning, just hours after the stabbing.
“It’s a little close to home,” she said. “"It can happen any time day or night, you're not safe any more.”
