Snowmobiler had injuries not consistent with fall from snowmobile, police say

A police investigation into a report of a seriously injured snowmobiler led officers to search a Port au Port home on Tuesday.
Police in the Bay St. George area have been investigating the case since Friday, when they received reports of an injured snowmobiler on Gravel's Pond in Port au Port at around 4:30 p.m.

The RCMP's major crimes unit is involved in the investigation, according to the news release. Officers searched a home on Front Road in Port au Port West on Wednesday.
Police said they seized a "number of items," but didn't say what they are.
Police are also want the public's help, and are looking for anyone who travelled in the Gravel's Pond area — known as the Gravels — between 3:57 p.m. and 4:05 p.m. on Friday.
